What My Students Say About Me

“Cardinia has a wonderful understanding of how to teach and keep young children engaged. She has a calming and patient attitude towards the lessons while still able to move seamlessly through her lesson plan and help the children learn new concepts and make them stick. Our 7 year old son looks forward to his violin lesson every week as he enjoys the interaction learning new and interesting things about music.”

- Sonia and Robert. R

“Cardinia is an amazing violin teacher who doesn't always just follow a book but listens to the individual students wants and needs and plans lessons accordingly. My daughter has been extremely happy since changing tutors to Cardinia 2 years ago and responds very well to her teaching style. She identified and helped correct some bad habits my daughter had developed previously with her violin and bow hold.  Cardinia is always professional, very supportive, friendly and approachable.”

My Story

Cardinia founded TrebleMakers with 10 years of performance, teaching and arts administration experience as she is passionate about improving the quality of children’s music education, making it a fun experience for all involved.

Cardinia commenced violin studies at the age of three, learning the Suzuki method from Yasuki Nakamura AM, an original student of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki. In the following years she progressed through the AMEB syllabus learning from Askar Nurlanov and was accepted to study at the Conservatorium High School. She continued her violin studies with Associate Professor Ole Bohn and Caron Chan, classical vocal training with Dr Narelle Yeo and musicianship training with Elizabeth Colman.

She has a variety of experience having been involved in the SBS Youth Orchestra, Sydney Youth Orchestra, Sydney Children’s Choir, Gondwana Voices and was cast as the child soloist ‘Bonnie’ in the Sydney Conservatorium’s Opera production of ‘Daisy Bates’. She has also received various awards including the Coralie Butler Vocal Scholarship and an encore nomination, the NSW Department of Education’s showcase for exceptional performances. Cardinia graduated from the Conservatorium High School and UTS as a qualified lawyer. She now performs full-time as a solo violinist and oversees the management of TrebleMakers. She has an AmusA Diploma in Violin and maintains an up to date NSW Working with Children’s Check.
