My Story
Louise joined TrebleMakers as a violinist with 8 years of teaching experience who completed her Master of Music Performance at the University of Melbourne Conservatorium in 2019. She enjoys teaching children from ages 5 and above, tailoring lessons to their interests while helping them achieve their goals in music.
Originally from Perth, she began playing the violin at the age of 5, learning under Monica Curro and Curt Thompson. She has also been mentored by world class musicians such as Shaun Lee Chen and Paul Wright . Louise completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Western Australia where she was concertmaster of the West Australian Youth Orchestra. In July 2016, she went to the Netherlands, Germany and China as part of the Australian Youth Orchestra’s international tour. Louise has performed with the Western Australia and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestras and toured with her string quartet to Korea, the US, China and Singapore. She has also performed for members of the Kronos Quartet, a popular American string quartet, including some of their pieces from their ‘Fifty for the Future’ initiative.
More recently, Louise has been studying Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney. Her goal is to work with young musicians to prevent injury and bring a more holistic approach to her teaching in order for students to thrive. Louise has a current Working with Children Check, First Aid and CPR certificate. Outside of teaching you can find Louise competing in long distance cycling marathons or at pilates.
