What My Students Say About Me
“I've been learning violin as an adult for two terms with Alice and I'm amazed at the progress I've made. I could barely hold the bow properly on my first lesson, but now I've got the skills to learn new songs and scales.”

“Sasha has adored her lessons. She has loved every minute of her music tutoring and we are so grateful for her help"

My Story
Alice joined TrebleMakers as an accomplished violinist with 6 years of teaching experience. Alice started learning violin at the age of 5 and progressed through to the highest graded exam in China, equivalent to an LMusA Diploma in Performance by the early age of 14. Alice has extensive orchestral experience in China and Australia. She has acted as the assistant principal at the ANU Chamber Orchestra and Sydney University Symphony Orchestra, and has played with the North Sydney Symphony Orchestra and newly established Sydney Concert Orchestra.
Alice holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance and a Master's degree in Business Analytics, and is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Violin Performance. Alice has found that her interest lies in classical performance and music teaching, and decided to have a career change after previously working in the fund industry.
Alice is particularly passionate about chamber music performance, violin teaching and contemporary music production. Alice believes that the ultimate goals of music teaching are that students are capable of comprehending the beauty of music, and are able to apply music theory with their own aesthetic approaches into performance practice. Alice also speaks fluent Mandarin and Cantonese and maintains an up to date Working with Children’s check.
